Anything unusually large — a full final account recovery, or a major tender — is agreed separately before it starts. You'll never find it on an invoice first.
The promise
One guarantee, on the thing we control
If we miss a payment-application deadline, and you gave us what we asked for in time — that month is free.
That's the whole of it. We don't guarantee tender outcomes — the award isn't ours to control, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling you something.
Straight answers
Questions people actually ask
Do we have to give you our contracts and figures?+
Yes, or we can't do the work. They stay yours, they go nowhere else, and they're never used in another client's work or in ours. That's in the engagement letter, in writing.
You do construction work yourselves. Are you going to bid against us?+
Fair question — it's the one we'd ask. We won't act for you on any package we're bidding or intend to bid. If we ever find ourselves on both sides of something, you'll hear it from us within a working day and we'll step off your side of it. If you'd rather we simply never bid anything you're bidding while we work together, say so and we'll write that into the agreement.
What if it doesn't work out?+
Thirty days' notice, either of us, any reason. We hand back everything we hold for you within ten working days in a format you can use. Nothing gets held over an invoice.
Can't we just do this ourselves?+
You are doing it yourselves. That's why the application went in late last month. The question is whether the evening you spend on it is worth more than £1,290.
